Jomsom Trek

This popular trek offers excellent hotel facilities, if you are keen to hold on to your home comforts. Never rising above 3000m, the trek presents few altitude problems and is therefore ideal for all ages. Nevertheless, you are rewarded with some spectacular and unusual views of Dhaulagiri and the Annapurna massif. A fitting climax to the trek is the trail through the Kali Gandaki gorge - the deepest gorge in the world!

Itinerary

Day 01:

Arrive Kathmandu Height: 1300m
Meet with our representative at the airport. Drive to hotel.

Day 02:

Kathmandu. Duration: 4 hrs Height: 1300m
Half day sightseeing around Kathmandu O/N at hotel.

Day 03:

Kathmandu-Pokhara Duration: 6hrs Drive or 30minute fly.
Height: 960m
Drive by tourist bus or fly. O/N hotel

Day 04:

Pokhara – Jomsom (2710m) - Marpha
Duration: 25min fly and 2 hrs walk.
Height: 2670m
Fly between to 8 thousand meters mountain and get in the rain-shed valley. Wendy riverbed makes difficult walk down but in the morning always-good time. It is the good place to stay over night. Monasteries, rich culture and nice people.

Day 05:

Marpha - Kalopani Duration: 6 hrs Height: 2530m
Leaving beautiful village Marpha walking along side Kaligandaki River passing Tukuche, Largung, Kobang and Kokhe Thati after crossing the bridge arrive Kalopani before the trek start down hill.

Day 06:

Kalopani - Tatopani Duration: 7 hrs Height: 1100m
Descend down crossing few bridges on the Kaligandaki River passing beautiful Rupse water fall and several villages along the Kaligandaki valley passing the Worlds Deepest Gorge which falls 6000 m from Dhaulagiri (8167 m) and Annapurna

Day 07:

Tatopani - Ghorepani Duration: 8 hrs Height: 2850m
Kaligandaki River after crossing the bridge on it and Bega Khola ascend steep up hill via Ghara and Shika. After long day climb arrive at Ghorepani.

Day 08:

Ghorepani - Ghandruk Duration: 7 hrs Height: 1950m
Wake up early morning and climb up to Poon hill from where can see from Dhaulagiri range to Mustang range. During the Sun rise panoramic views with colorful mountains. Again walk down to hotel and after breakfast walk up hill towards Tadapani. Climb with Mountain views again through Rhododendron forest. After the top path goes along the ridge and Trail descends steeply through dense moss-covered forest rich with bird life. Tadapani for beautiful sunset views of Annapurna South and Machhapuchhare Trail descends along the dense moss-covered forest again rich with bird life. A short walk to Ghandruk, which is a big village of Gurungs and ACAP office, gives you more affirmations. From village spectacular panorama over the Annapurna south, Himchuli and Machhapuchhare.

Day 09:

Ghandruk - Pothana Duration: 7 hrs Height: 1900m
Walk down steeply stone step to Modi River after cross the bridge climb back to Landruk Village and walk along the villages and slow climb to Pothana for another panoramic point.

Day 10:

Pothana - Phedi - Pokhara Duration: 3 hrs walk and 1 hrs drive Height: 960m
It is short walk to Phedi along the Dhampus village and steep down hill to Phedi and drive back to Pokhara. On hotel

Day 11:

Pokhara - Kathmandu Duration: 6 hrs drive or 30minute fly.
Height: 1300m
